Cycling to Bali

waypoint: N25.16052 E121.43362, Bali, Taipei County (台北縣八里)

download and show the route on Google Earth. (How-to: Save the download first and then open the file in Google Earth to see the complete route.)

This is the Bali in the precinct of Taipei County, not the one in Indonesia.

Bali is attractive to me because it's at the end of a very beautiful riverside trail that's allowed for cyclists and hikers only. No motorcycles or cars. You can always take your time without getting horned.

I rented a twin tandem bike in a store near MRT Kuandu Station for NT$200. I could keep it as long as I liked so long as I returned it by the end of the day by 9:00 in the evening.

It's an easy ride, with few ups and downs along the way.

Since this is a pretty safe trail, people may get creative about how to get the most out of a single bicycle.

A romantic way to share a bike.

If you need to get everyone under the same roof...

Don't worry about water. There's plenty and free.

Along the bike trail, you can see these mud skippers at very close range.

There is a beach near the Bali wharf. It's kid's heaven.
