Google may be the king of search the world over, and eBay the synonym of online auction. But both simply play far second behind Yahoo in Taiwan.
Thanks to Rose Tsou, the head of local Yahoo office, eBay backed out of Taiwan market last year, and Google is no competition in either search, keyword ads, or blog service.
But now news has it that Tsou, the No.1 business woman in Taiwan, got caught with tax evasion, in the sum of at least 10 million Taiwan dollars (USD$312,500), according to Taipei Times.
That's bad publicity for her and Yahoo. But I guess a lot of people will be happy to hear about it, as she and her team have just built a formidable alliance of enemies locally.
