Mystique was cured

It's always good to be around with an old friend on a lazy weekend afternoon.

She ordered iced Indian Latte (印地安拿鐵), while I the usual Latte in Barista (西雅圖咖啡).

It's been 13 years. The transformation on her is enormous. To take a page from the third X-men movie (The Last Stand), she has grown from Kitty to the cured sexy Mystique.

The thing about a good friend is that you could literally stand naked to each other without hiding anything. It's the kind of freedom and comfort you can feel only in certain friends.

We exchanged life's wisdom, joked about politics and the little changes in ourselves.

The Indian Latte was awful, she said. I took a sip, and wondered if it was the odd mixture of an unknown spice. But do American Indians drink spiced coffee? Do they use spices at all? We decided that the "Indian" is probably the one in south Asia, and not in America.

When we parted, I took a picture of her all smiling, just like the perfect warmth in the Sunday afternoon.

Mystique, the shape-shifting female mutant, was lying the floor, powerless, after being cured.

Kitty can walk through walls.
